Queens Zoo
Things to Do
-
Aviary
The dome atop our aviary is from the 1964 World’s Fair, which was held in Flushing Meadows. The birds that call it home hail from across the Western Hemisphere.

Domestic Animals
Among the animals here: Flemish giant rabbits that top 20 lbs., Texas longhorns whose horns span six feet, and “oreo cows” (or belted Galloways), whose coloration makes us crave milk and cookies.
- FLEMISH GIANT RABBIT
- BELTED GALLOWAY COW
- JACOBS FOUR-HORNED SHEEP
- TEXAS LONGHORN
-
Sea Lion Pool
Few at the zoo spend as much time in the water as our Andean bears. The nearby sea lions are an exception, though. We love to watch these guys play in their waterfall on exhibit.

Animal Trail
There’s an array of wildlife from the Americas here—big, burly bison; the tiniest of deer, called pudu; and lots in between. Chacoan peccaries were only known from fossils until a herd was found in Bolivia in 1975.
