Queens Zoo
Children Programs

Planning an amazing adventure for your young explorer is easy! Find educational drop-off programs for grades K-5, led by WCS Educators. Put on your safari hat and bring your magnifying lenses. Each week will focus a different animal adaptation and put your animal skills to the test as we learn about the zoo’s residents through hands-on activities, up-close encounters, and exhibit exploration.

Little Explorers: Hog Wild

We’ll go whole hog in this program as we learn about the similarities and differences between our Chacoan peccaries and the domestic hog. Experience the life of a keeper as we discover the husbandry responsibilities and essential skills that ensure these animals stay as happy as pigs in the mud. Join us as we participate in up-close animal encounters, exhibit exploration, and more! Put your animal skills to the test as we learn about the Queens Zoo’s residents through up-close animal encounters, behind-the-scenes looks with our animal care team, and hands-on activities. This is a drop off program. Participants will meet small ambassador animals during the program. Participants will not have direct contact with exhibit animals.
