Summer Camp

Camps are designed to help your child learn, explore, socialize,and have fun! Campers will experience up-close animal encounters, explore exhibits, create life-long memories, and make wonderful friends!


All camps run Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
*The week of July 2 - 6 is a 4-day camp. No camp in session Wednesday, July 4, 2018.

Toddler Camp (ages 2-3 with caregiver)

Join us each day for an hour long opportunity for children and their caregivers to meet the wonderful furry, scaly, and feathery animals in the zoo. You and your child will explore nature through live animals, movement and musical activities, and crafts.

KinderZoo (entering Pre-K - 1st grades)

Campers will explore science and the natural world each day in the zoo. Through experiments and observations, and visits from animal guests, children will learn about animal adaptations and habitats! Each week of camp is different, so your child can join us for more than one.

Week of Wildlife (entering 1st and 2nd grades)

Wildlife investigations and observations will lead campers through a study of animals from the Americas. Your child will enjoy fun science activities, crafts and up close animal encounters as they learn about the animal world.

Sessions A & B are different from each other so you can choose to send your child to camp for two non-repeating weeks.

Zoo Explorer (entering 3rd - 5th grades)

Campers will be immersed into the world of wildlife conservation. Campers use scientific investigations to explore how animals survive in the wild. Through interactive games, projects, and animal guests they will learn about conservation efforts to protect wildlife.

Sessions A & B are different from each other so you can choose to send your child to camp for two non-repeating weeks.

Junior Scientist (entering 6th - 8th grades)

This program challenges campers to learn about unique challenges to wildlife and conservation in the zoo. Each day, campers will have opportunities to explore, design, and use everyday materials in exciting ways and through open-ended exploration and experimentation to find creative solutions to some real world concerns about the animals in our care. Each week will explore a different conservation challenge, so that they can participate in more than one session.
